AirLab Home Test Kit Specification
The AirLab Home Test Kit is designed to measure the most common and dangerous contaminants in indoor air. Our kit has no liquids to mix, pumps, or industrial metal canisters. You simply open the samplers in your home for three days and send them back in the prepaid shipping box.
Scroll down for more details on the specific chemicals our full kit tests for and the testing process:
- Carbon Tetrachloride
- Methylene Chloride
- Total Xylenes
- Molds and Allergens
AirLab has the capability of measuring a wide range of chemicals in one easy-to-use sampling kit. The kit contains four samplers:
Formaldehyde and VOC Air Samplers
- Formaldehyde Air Sampler
- VOC Air Sampler
- Allergen/Mold Tape Sampler
- Radon Air Sampler (Radon results cannot be provided to residents of Florida, New Jersey or Iowa.)
Slide the cover of each sampler down to the 'ON' position to expose the holes on the face of the sampler. Insert the samplers into the sample base provided. After 3 days, slide the sample covers back up to the original position covering the holes.
Allergen/Mold Tape Sampler
To measure molds and allergens in your indoor air, press the sticky section of the tape sampler lightly down onto a surface in the home (such as a desk, shelf, or table) and return to the slide case.
Remove the screw cap on the vial to expose the charcoal material. After 3 days, replace the screw cap to seal the vial.
(Radon results cannot be provided to residents of Florida, New Jersey or Iowa.)
Return to the Laboratory
Once the sampling is complete, return all samplers to the box, affix the FedEx Return Shipping Label, seal the box and drop-off at a FedEx location to return the samplers to the laboratory for analysis.

Tell me about the AirLab Report
No home air test is more complete. Your report will list the level of chemical or hazard in your air, an estimation of the health risk, and how your results compare to typical indoor air levels found in homes.
View a Sample Report
The AirLab report lists the concentrations of 15 of the most commonly found hazardous VOCs, Formaldehyde, Mold/Allergens, and Radon in your indoor air. Expert toxicologists have developed the interpretative section of the report, outlining the health risk of each hazard, comparing your results to EPA health-based guidelines and to typical levels found in homes in North America. Valuable information on health effects, sources of chemicals, and advice as to how to improve indoor air quality is also provided. And, if additional help is required, resources to contact for next steps.
